Terms of Service

By purchasing, installing, or using any product or service from KRISC, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read these carefully before proceeding.

1. Solar Surveillance — Connectivity & Data Usage

  • Network Dependency: The 4G/LTE functionality depends on the signal strength of the third-party cellular provider. KRISC is not responsible for outages, downtime, or poor signal quality caused by the telecommunications provider.
  • Data Plans: Unless explicitly included in a service package, the customer is responsible for maintaining an active data SIM card with sufficient balance.

2. Solar Power & Battery Management

  • Weather Impact: While our systems include high-capacity battery backups, extended periods (3+ days) of heavy overcast weather or total lack of sunlight may result in a system shutdown to protect battery life. This is expected behavior and not a defect.
  • Maintenance: The customer is responsible for ensuring the solar panel remains free of dust, debris, or obstructions (like growing tree branches) to maintain charging efficiency.

Pro Tip: A quarterly panel cleaning (part of our Gold Support Package) ensures peak solar charging efficiency year-round and extends battery life significantly.

3. Data Privacy & Legal Use

  • Ethical Usage: The customer agrees to use the surveillance system in compliance with all local and national privacy laws. KRISC is not liable for any unauthorized or illegal monitoring of private property or individuals.
  • Cloud/Local Storage: We provide the hardware for storage (SD cards/NVR). The management and deletion of recorded footage are the sole responsibility of the customer.

4. Billing Software — Terms

  • The software license is granted for use on a single installation per license unless the Multi-User package has been purchased.
  • KRISC retains no access to your business data. All data belongs to the customer.
  • Free technical support is included for the first 30 days post-installation. After this period, support is available under our service packages.

5. Hardware Warranty

  • Standard Warranty: All hardware carries a 1-year limited warranty from the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects.
  • Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damages caused by lightning strikes, extreme weather events, vandalism, or unauthorized tampering with internal circuitry.
  • Installation Guarantee: For units installed by our team, we provide a 90-day guarantee on the mounting and wiring integrity.

6. Force Majeure

KRISC shall not be held liable for service interruptions caused by natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, government-imposed restrictions, or any event beyond our reasonable control.

7. Refund & Return Policy

  • Goods once sold are not returnable unless there is a documented hardware defect covered under warranty.
  • Software licenses are non-refundable once installed and activated.
  • Installation fees are non-refundable once the service has been rendered.

8. Firmware & Security Updates

For security purposes, KRISC may occasionally need to perform remote firmware updates on surveillance camera systems (where supported) to maintain 4G connectivity security. You will be notified before any such updates are applied.
